After walking through the cobblestone alleyways, the labyrinth slowed, and the true center of Zurich opened up from beneath my feet, stretching to every corner. The heart of Zurich is many things, all tied together. No one piece is more stately than another, all incomplete without their counterparts. The Fraumunster and Grossmunster anchor the bridge as two goliaths. The calm river connects the train station at the head of the city to the lake at its diaphragm, drawing in the various mazes from either side. Then there’s the lake itself, leading toward the mountains, stopping at the Quaibrucke so the river can begin; perfectly prominent, yet contained by the stretches of green and poppies on either side.
